Chloe Madeley reveals she went back to work 8 weeks after giving birth because she needed the money

Chloe Madeley has revealed that she went back to work just eight weeks after giving birth to her five-month-old daughter Bodhi because she needed the money.

The 35-year-old fitness fanatic, the daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, has admitted that she and her husband James Haskell do not have a joint bank account.

Therefore, she had to cut her maternity leave shorter than she would have liked, in order to earn a living.

speaking to Mirror, she said: ‘James obviously has a great income and he’s my partner and that’s great, but we don’t have a joint account. We’ve always had separate accounts and I think that’s a bit of a pride for me.

Chloe confessed: ‘Next time, if I get pregnant again, I won’t do it at all. I’ll swallow my pride, jump on James’ account, and take at least six months.

Elsewhere in the interview, Chloe opened up about her and her husband’s home dynamics, and James said from the outset that his career came first.

She explained: “James told me early on, ‘I’m not going to slow down with my career.’ He told me, “I’m really motivated by work. I’m motivated by finances. I’m definitely in this with you, but I’m not going to slow down, so don’t expect a stay-at-home parent at any time, because I’m not going to to do”. I was like, ‘Fair enough.’

She added that when James is home with her and the baby, he is “amazing” and she is “grateful.”

It comes after Chloe revealed that her five-month-old baby was rushed to hospital twice in one week amid fears he had contracted meningitis or sepsis.

She shared with her Instagram followers last month that Bodhi was back home after a “hard five days” with what turned out to be the “type A flu virus.”

Chloe explained: ‘My little love has been in a really bad way this week. Two trips to the hospital and a lot of tears.

She continued: ‘Her temperature went from 39.8 on Saturday morning to 34 on Sunday night, so she was extremely worried about meningitis and sepsis, but the blood tests show it’s just the flu virus. type a

‘I’m just saying, wow, it hasn’t felt good. Has anyone else had their little one’s temperature this low with the flu virus? I’m still a bit confused as to how/why that happened.

‘I am also amazed at how much it has affected my sleep and workload, and how hard the last 5 days have been.

“I just want to say to each and every mother who has to take these kinds of trips and deal with these kinds of things on a regular basis, that I am in awe of you. That you are real life superheroes. that you amaze me

Chloe thanked the hospital workers who helped Bodhi: “And also the doctors and nurses who do the night shifts in the pediatric ER, thank you, you are the best of us.”

She has been in a relationship with James Haskell, 37, for eight years and married for more than four, and has previously spoken in depth about her active sex life.

Chloe admitted she’s not in a sexual headspace anymore, since welcoming daughter Bodhi in August, and neither is her husband.

She said on the Made by Mammas podcast: “Getting back into the groove of a good healthy sex life has been hard enough, and I can’t figure out if it’s me, if it’s him or if it’s both of us.” I’m going to say it’s the latter, we are both.

“I just feel like I’m not really in a very sexual headspace right now. I hope you come back. I don’t think he is either. Let’s hope he’s back to normal.

Chloe, who is the daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, has spoken at length about her sex life with former 6ft 3in flanker James in the past.

Former England rugby star James, who admits to having slept with 1,000 women in the past, has previously said that he “approaches sex as a competitive sport.”

He previously told The Sun: ‘I end up taking everything very seriously. But I mean you want to be good at sex, right? I’m not sure I’m very good at it, but I’m doing well trying to be better. There are a lot of people out there having a lot of bad sex. I want to improve it.’

Chloe also admitted that lockdown had a detrimental effect on her once-riotous sex life due to work stress and slow pace.

She told The Sun back then: ‘Our sex life took a nosedive and completely dried up in lockdown and we had to work our way back to the top again, no pun intended.

“I was surprised, because James and I have always been very sexually compatible and I always assumed these breaks would never happen to us.”

She noted that James developed a love for afternoon sex after being too tired at night, which didn’t sit well with him.

Chloe’s words come as she admitted she was hoping to divorce James after he booked a DJ gig on her birth date and then dumped her for eight consecutive nights that week.

Personal trainer and TV presenter Chloe said she went to bed on her due date hating her husband, but five months later, thankfully, he has redeemed himself from birth.

Asked what unexpected thing had surprised her about becoming a mother, she said: “What an incredible meaning James had.” He is the best of her with her. I watch it with her and I’m so relieved.
