Chipotle launches half-price burritos for one day only – but there’s a catch
Chipotle customers can grab a burrito for half off on Halloween, as long as they’re dressed for the occasion.
The fast-food chain will offer $6 entrees to all its Rewards members on Thursday at participating restaurants nationwide as part of its ‘Boorito’ special.
This deal means Chipotle Rewards members can buy a burrito for $6 instead of the average price of $12.
All Rewards members have to do is walk into a participating location during the spooky holiday wearing a Halloween costume.
This deal is only valid for one day and Halloween enthusiasts can only redeem the deal in-store and not online.
Participating Chipotle restaurants nationwide will offer $6 entree items to their Rewards members for the annual ‘Boorito’ deal on Halloween
Chipotle started its Boorito special in 2000 after hosting a successful burrito-themed costume contest.
The deal has only become more popular, and customers can occasionally wear burrito-themed costumes when they want to purchase their $6 entree.
This year, all Chipotle Rewards members simply need to place their order at a participating location starting at 3 p.m. and scan for Rewards during the sale.
It is only limited to one customer per sale, and the restaurant chain confirmed it would not be valid for children’s rules, catering orders or third-party ordering platforms, according to Boorito’s general terms and conditions.
Any Chipotle Rewards members looking for modifiers like guacamole, queso, extra meat on all entrees except vegetarian should also be prepared to spend more than $6.
Customers who still want to get in on this spooky deal have until closing time on Halloween at a participating U.S. restaurant to purchase their $6 burrito or other entrée.
All Chipotle Rewards members must wear a costume and purchase the food item at a participating U.S. location
Social media users weren’t too happy to hear about the ‘Boorito’ deal, with multiple
“As a chipotle vet, I remember when you wore a costume the boito was free,” an X user tweeted after the announcement of the offer.

Chipotle customers on Instagram were equally frustrated with this year’s “Boorito” deal, with one person insisting it was “not a deal at all.”
“This used to be such an exciting day to go to Chipotle. It used to be free (great), then it went to $2 in 2011, then to $3 and now $6, so it’s basically $2 off a chicken burrito, hardly enough reason to go now,” one Instagrammer claimed.
“I think portion sizes aren’t the only thing chipotles are skimpy on.”
Several X and Instagram users were not enthusiastic about the ‘Boorito’ deal as the discounted items would cost more money than in previous years
While Chipotle Rewards members can wear any costume they want, die-hard fans of the restaurant chain have the option to wear one of Chipotle’s signature costumes.
The collection consists of five costumes: Chipotle Fork, Chipotle Napkin, Chipotle Water Cup, Chipotle Burrito and Chipotle To-Go Bag.
The new collection was created through Chipotle’s collaboration with Spirit Halloween.
“Our popular Halloween tradition, Boorito, started with a burrito-themed costume contest and now we’re taking it to the next level with the launch of our first-ever costume collection in partnership with Spirit Halloween,” said Chipotle Chief Brand Officer Chris. Brandt at the time.
Customers in the US and Canada can purchase these costumes on the Spirit Halloween website.
Select Spirit Halloween locations in Illinois, Colorado, New Jersey, California and New York are also selling them while supplies last.
