They ask the then 25-year-old “What’s your name,” to which he replies “Lewis.”
The young man then looks up and says to the officer, “I’ve been walking, man.”
The police officer asks Deeley to write down what he is doing, after which he puts his hand in the Haribo package and eats another candy.
When asked if he’s carrying anything he shouldn’t, Deeley replies that he has a “nunchuck thing.”
The officer says, ‘Leave it where it is. Put your hands behind your back for a moment. Get these candies off you.’
Deeley then gives the police a false name of Lewis Thomas as he is handcuffed and put in the back of a van.
June had lived in her home for 40 years when she was bludgeoned to death by Deeley in what police described as “horrific” conditions.

June was a “kind-hearted and generous” mother to her three adult children – Trisha, Sebastian and Abigail.
She was also grandmother and great-grandmother to a little girl who was born earlier that month, and she sadly never got a chance to meet.
June came from the village of Llantwit Fardre, near Pontypridd, South Wales, where she was ‘loved by all’.
She was the director of her family’s IT company and also ran a nearby cafe called June’s Cakes and Shakes.
The grandmother had plans to build her dream bungalow to retreat to and planned a beautiful garden and allotment to escape to.
