Terrified shoppers fled a Target after the children’s clothing department went up in flames.
Shocking video taken by a customer shows flames licking the ceiling of the store in Buena Park, California, surrounding a display of children’s clothing.
Among the fleeing shoppers was Guillermo Santander, who was with his daughter.
He told ABC 7 Eyewitness News that when he came in, it was a small flame, but it suddenly got bigger.
He said, “We thought it was a Halloween prop. But as we got closer, we heard a bang, which was the sprinkler going off. Suddenly the flame got bigger.’

A male voice in the clip says, “The clothes are on fire, someone probably set them on fire.”
After burning through a rack of clothing, the fire quickly grew and spread to other items.
The video, originally posted to X by “Drone Daddy News,” also shows an employee frantically trying to use a fire extinguisher to put out the blaze.
The incident happened just after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Target on Orangethorpe and Western Avenue ABC 7 Eyewitness News.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated and the fire service has confirmed that the shop sprinkler system has been deployed.
By the time Orange County Fire Authority firefighters arrived on scene, the fire was extinguished.
However, according to OCFA battalion chief Erik Miranda, there was still a smoky haze in the shop.

Fortunately, no one was injured, but many children’s clothing items were damaged.
The clip started circulating on social media, with people praising the reaction of the employees.
One viewer said, “He needs a raise. I just saved the whole giant warehouse.”
Another added, “He must have watched a lot of YouTube videos on how to be a firefighter.”
