Sydney childcare worker charged with sexually touching a child and common assault

A male childcare worker has been charged with allegedly sexually abusing a child.

The 34-year-old man was arrested at a warehouse in Kemps Creek, in Sydney’s west, at 12.45pm on Thursday by detectives from the state’s child abuse squad.

He was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with intentional sexual touching of children under 10 and common assault.

The man was refused bail and will appear in Penrith Local Court on Friday.

Detectives launched an investigation in September after receiving a report that a young child had been sexually abused at a Sydney daycare center.

The man was charged with intentional sexual touching of a child under 10 and common assault at Penrith police station on Thursday (pictured).
