Child, three, is stabbed to death and a man fights for his life as a police squad clears a blockade in western Sydney
A three-year-old child has died and a man is in critical condition after a suspected stabbing in southwest Sydney.
Emergency services were called to a unit complex on Washington Avenue, Riverwood, following reports of welfare concerns at 4 p.m. today.
The three-year-old’s body was found by police and paramedics in the unit, along with a 45-year-old man who was seriously injured. He is currently fighting for his life in the hospital.

It is clear that the child was known to the man.
“Officers from Campsie Police Area Command attended and found a three-year-old boy who had died within the unit,” a police spokesman said.
‘Police also found a 45-year-old man with serious injuries; he was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics who were taken to hospital in critical condition.’
A crime scene has been cordoned off and officers are investigating.
Footage of the incident showed a massive response from police and paramedics, with about a dozen ambulances and police cars in the street.
