Paramedics and police rushed to a property on Dover St, Albanvale, in Melbourne’s west (pictured), around 4pm on Monday, but the boy could not be saved.

Shortly after detectives arrived, a woman was handcuffed and led from the scene.

Victoria Police told Daily Mail Australia that “an occupant of the home is currently assisting police with their investigations while they determine the exact circumstances.”

Forensic investigators arrived around 7 p.m. and cordoned off the property as they prepared to spend the night searching the home for evidence.

Residents on the streets were told to stay indoors.

The occupants of the house where the boy was found are believed to have moved in weeks earlier.
