An investigation is underway into the death of a young girl in Far North Queensland.
Emergency services were called to a house in Rankin Street, Innisfail, shortly before 1pm on Monday after reports a toddler had been found unconscious in a car.
Paramedics treated the girl before she was taken to Innisfail Hospital in a critical condition, where she died a short time later.

Temperatures in Innisfail topped 30 degrees Celsius on Monday, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Queensland Police have launched an investigation into the girl’s death.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
