His defensive teammate L’Jarius Sneed could be traded after being tagged in the franchise

“I need three of those rings, honey, we’re not done yet. Kansas City, we will be back here next year. And for those who want Chris Jones gone, I’m not going anywhere, baby!’

Jones played last season under a one-year contract worth $19.5 million after he and the Chiefs could not agree to a long-term deal.

Elsewhere on the Chiefs defense, the future of cornerback L’Jarius Sneed is quickly becoming a major storyline this offseason as several trade candidates have reportedly surfaced.

Sneed was awarded the franchise tag by Kansas City and is now under contract through the 2024 season with a salary cap hit of $19.8 million.

However, USA Today has reported that as many as seven teams have expressed interest in trading for Sneed: The Vikings, Colts, Titans, Patriots, Falcons, Jaguars and Lions.

Completing any transaction would require approval from Sneed, who has the ability to negotiate a long-term extension with suitors before a deal can be finalized.
