Chief executive: EasyJet Holidays’ £1bn ambition

EasyJet’s holiday division is on track to become a £1 billion company, the boss claims

EasyJet’s holiday division is on track to become a £1 billion company, claims its CEO.

Garry Wilson told The Mail on Sunday that he aims to triple sales at easyJet Holidays within a few years.

The low-cost airline launched the business, which allows UK customers to book European hotels in addition to easyJet flights, in November 2019. Last year it generated revenue of £386 million.

The operation was hampered by travel restrictions imposed during the worst of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.

But last summer there was enormous growth, as a result of which the company booked 1.1 million bookings.

Wilson said customers are still booking more expensive trips for the summer despite the cost-of-living crisis.

He said the biggest players in the market have about five million customers. “There’s no reason we can’t get to that size,” he added. “We hope to be a billion-dollar company very soon.”
