Chick-fil-A launches its first new sandwich in EIGHT years – topped with pimento cheese
- Chick-Fil-A has launched a brand new Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich, its first new sandwich in nearly a decade
- The sandwich consists of a Chick-fil-A-filet, chili pepper and mild pickled jalapeños, served on a warm, toasted bun drizzled with sweet honey
- It will be available in all states except Hawaii starting Monday, August 28
For the first time in nearly a decade, Chick-Fil-A has launched a new sandwich with pimento and other spicy and sweet flavors.
The Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich has been rolling out in the United States since August 28 and is already considered a “standout” item.
Along with pimento, the sandwich comes with a Chick-fil-A filet and mild pickled jalapeños served on a warm, toasted bun drizzled with sweet honey.
“The Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich uses ingredients and flavors our guests have never experienced at Chick-fil-A before,” said Chef Stuart Tracy.

The sandwich will be available immediately in all states except Hawaii.
While completely new to the menu, the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich has been called “an original take on an original.”
Before hitting markets in the United States, the sandwich and 29 other options were tested and experimented over the course of a year.
The Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich was successfully tested in Asheville, NC and the state of South Carolina in 2020 and was eventually chosen to go national.
“In testing, customers rated it highly for taste and value, outperforming other seasonal sandwiches and on par with the Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich,” the restaurant chain said in a press release.
Chain officials said the goal was to create a sandwich that blended savory, melty, salty and sweet in a perfect balance.
“With our custom pimento cheese and specially sourced jalapeños, we hope to deliver a new and exciting sandwich that our guests will love,” said Tracy.
In addition to the inventive new entree, the restaurant chain introduced another menu item: the Caramel Crumble Milkshake.
The milkshake comes with creamy butterscotch caramel flavors, hand-spun Chick-fil-A ice cream, blondie crumbles, whipped cream and a cherry.

Fans reacted to the new sandwich online after the announcement was made in mid-August with mixed general sentiment.
“Man, that sandwich sounds GOOD FINISH,” one wrote.
“Oh say less,” added another.
“Looks like a dog threw up on the sandwich,” one skeptic tweeted.
On Monday, comments began pouring in from those who were among the first to try the new addition to the menu.
“I just tried the Lord’s chicken with pimento, honey, and jalapeños. Honestly, pretty awesome,” one person wrote on Twitter.
‘It’s not by a long shot the best pimento cheese I’ve ever had, but the flavor combination is good. Shaking was ok. 4.5/5 stars for a fast food sandwich.’
“The chicken sandwich with pimento cheese appetizer is the best thing Chick Fil A has ever done,” another Twitter user shared.
