Chick-fil-A customers furious after restaurant makes ‘gross’ change to fan favorite food item
Chick-fil-A customers are outraged after the fast-food restaurant made changes to its popular waffle recipe.
Americans have branded the new fries ‘nasty’ after the chain added a controversial new ingredient – pea starch – to the classic mix.
Daryl-Ann Denner, 34, was among those with salty words for Chick-fil-A after it made the change without consulting customers.
“I eat Chick-fil-A at least a few times a week, and I would say around mid-November I noticed something was different with the fries,” Denner said. Southern life.
‘At first I thought I kept getting a bad batch. Then I blamed it on the location not being good, but when I visited another location with my mother I asked her if she noticed the fries were grittier than normal.
“Whether or not I got a meal, I got fries and a large Diet Coke. Now I order my starter and don’t get fries. They are dry, grainy and have no taste anymore. My children don’t even eat them.’
A recent Instagram post from Chick-fil-A was also flooded with people throwing shade at the recipe change, describing it as “gross” and “scary.”
‘The fries are so dirty now. We are all sad,” one wrote, while another said: “CFA I love you more than anyone. You can’t do anything wrong. Except the fries. Please put them back.”

“Your new fries are terrible. I can’t even eat them anymore and they were my favorite thing. Please go back!’ another beleaguered customer agreed.
“The new fries yield ‘seven eleven waffle fries under a heat lamp,’” one customer joked, while another customer complained, “Who at Chick-Fil-A decided to “fix” what wasn’t broken?!?! Read the room, everyone.”
‘Hate the new fries!! Please change them back. We want waterlogged!’ said one woman, while the other simply said, “We want the old fries back.”
Many customers missed the ‘moistness’ of the old fries, adding that the new ones are dangerously sharp.
“The new fries are awful and I cut the inside of my cheek trying to chew them,” one customer warned. “Please bring back the original fries.”
Others complained of “scary” allergies linked to the new ingredient and said they “found out the hard way” that the new fries contain pea starch.
“You were our ONLY safe fast food restaurant for our family members with food allergies,” one woman said angrily.
‘We found out the hard way that you changed your fries formula. I was wondering why my son suddenly developed hives after eating CFA, something we do quite often. What a shame we don’t go there anymore.’
