“While our decision to end our marriage is undoubtedly an important one, we are all determined to maintain our friendship and support each other as we enter this new phase of our lives.
“We emphasize our shared values of respect, understanding and kindness, which have guided our decision-making process.
“We have great respect for each other and intend to approach our divorce with the utmost dignity and care.
While we will no longer be husband and wife, we look forward to remaining close friends and supporting each other’s personal and professional endeavors.
“Ariana and I kindly ask the media and public for privacy and understanding during this transition period.
“We understand the interest in our lives, but hope our decision to part amicably is respected.”
TMZ reported that Dubelko filed for divorce in a Los Angeles court on Monday, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the explanation.
The veteran right-hander signed a one-year, $10.4 million contract earlier this year
The outlet did report that a representative for Giolito said the decision was “mutual,” but there is no joint filing in California.
Dubelko, who graduated from veterinary school last year, also seeks support from the husband of the veteran right-hander and 2019 All-Star who signed a one-year, $10.4 million contract in January.
The couple had no children together.
