Chicago TikToker is blasted for accusing bouncer of manhandling her and sending her ‘flying down stairs’ after business shared surveillance footage of her being walked out calmly with friend

A Chicago-based TikToker has been accused of lying about a negative experience she had at the Hubbard Inn.

Julia Reel posted a video to the social media platform accusing the bouncers at the Hubabrd Inn of “assaulting” her and making her “fly down the stairs.”

The Hubbard Inn, located at 110 W Hubbard St, endured much online criticism, including statements of violence, before deciding to release surveillance footage of the alleged incident and tell their side of the story.

They posted the surveillance footage alongside Reel’s Tiktok in which she speaks at length about the alleged assault she claims she suffered at the hands of the bouncers at the Hubbard Inn.

There was a dramatic contrast between Reel’s claims and what the surveillance footage showed.

Chicago-based TikToker Julia Reel claimed she was grabbed and pushed downstairs at the Hubbard Inn by the establishment’s bouncer. The Hubbard Inn video apparently proves otherwise

The footage from the Hubbard Inn shows the bouncer walking in front of and next to Reel and her friend without any physical altercation.

“So they grab us right away,” Reel tells her TikTok followers. “They don’t even give us the chance to get out on our own.”

Footage from the Hubbard Inn shows the bouncer with his arms at his sides as he professionally leads Reel and her friend away from the scene.

Below the Hubbard Inn video, text appears stating that Reel’s roommate “apologized repeatedly for her behavior.”

“I’m immediately captivated by this man,” Reel continues, pantomiming being pulled by the shoulder. ‘And he grabs my arm. He pushes me. He treats me.

‘What is going on? What’s the problem here? Why are you throwing us out? Why are you yelling at us?

“Why are you grabbing me, abusing me and dragging me?”

The video played footage of Reel and a bouncer calmly and undramatically walking down a hallway.

The Hubbard Inn zooms in on the surveillance footage, making the interaction between Reel and the bouncer more visible.

They appear to exchange some words as they walk to the exit, but the footage shows the bouncer not grabbing, handling or dragging Reel.

As soon as they reach the stairs, Reel says, “I’m just being pushed down.”

“He’s sending me flying down the stairs,” she claims, making a throwing motion with her hand like a wave.

She continues, “(I’m) hysterical at this point. I think I start yelling, yelling back at him, pushing back at him a little bit.”

“And he takes me with him for the second time,” says Reel. “And pushes me again and sends me flying down the rest of the stairs,” she said, making a pushing motion to better illustrate her experience.

The surveillance footage shows Reel and her friend descending the stairs without any problems.

The two appear to climb down the stairs unhurriedly, and the bouncer, instead of pushing Reel, shines a flashlight to illuminate their way down.

The bouncer then sends Reel and her friend to the exit.

Near the end of the inn’s video, the text appears: “She was politely escorted from the premises to ensure a safe exit.”

And: ‘Mrs. The reel was not thrown down two flights of stairs.”

The video cuts back to Reel, who says, “It was the craziest experience I’ve ever had. It was completely ridiculous how much it escalated.”

The video then shows the security footage one last time, with Reel and her friend leaving the inn with little drama.

Reel did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.
