The Chicago Bears have fired offensive coordinator Shane Waldron amid the team’s three-game losing streak.
In a huge move by head coach Matt Eberflus, the OC is gone and will be replaced by Thomas Brown, according to multiple reports Tuesday morning.
The Bears posted their worst finish of the season on Sunday, managing just three points in a 19-3 loss to the struggling New England Patriots.
The offense will now be led by Brown, who previously served as the passing game coordinator and now returns to a role he previously held with the Carolina Panthers last season.
Waldron’s offenses have struggled for several seasons, with his Seahawks team ranking 20th, 13th and 21st in total yards in 2021, 2022 and 2023 respectively, while this season’s Bears are 30th.

Caleb Williams talks to reporters after the team’s 19-3 loss to the New England Patriots
The team is sticking with rookie quarterback Caleb Williams despite poor form, and now Brown gets the chance to make him a shot.
Brown, once an NFL running back for the Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns, has previously interviewed for several head coaching jobs but will now get a chance to show what he can do in Chicago.
Head coach Matt Eberflus punted when asked about Waldron’s job status after Sunday’s loss.
“I’m just thinking about coming out here now within 24 hours and making whatever changes or changes you want to make and declare,” Eberflus said. “When I have those answers, I will get them to you. I’m not at that point yet.”
Through Sunday, the 4-5 Bears ranked 30th in total offense and 24th in points.
Chicago has not scored in its last two games and 23 possessions.
Now the Bears’ schedule is about to get tougher with six of eight games coming against their NFC North rivals, including Green Bay this week.
The Bears famously drafted USC’s Caleb Williams with the first pick in last April’s NFL Draft instead of Daniels, who is now considered a Rookie of the Year favorite.
