Chester Bennington’s mom feels ‘BETRAYED’ by Linkin Park reuniting with new singer Emily Armstrong

Chester Bennington’s mother has broken her silence on Linkin Park’s reunion with new lead singer Emily Armstrong, claiming she was never told about their new tour or music.

Bennington, the lead singer of the iconic Crawling hitmakers, committed suicide on July 20, 2017 at the age of 41. Earlier this month, it was announced that Armstrong, 38, had joined the group with plans for a new tour and album.

However, Armstrong’s ties to Scientologyand previous support for actor Danny Mastersonwho was convicted of rape and sentenced to at least 30 years in prison, have caused much outrage.

Susan Eubanks, Bennington’s mother, has accused the band of reneging on their promise to let her know if they were planning to get back together. She claims she only discovered Armstrong “through Google” and that the “betrayal” left her in tears.

Despite alleged run-ins with rapper Mike Shinoda and turntablist Joe Hahn in recent years, she claims no one told her a reunion was in the works.

She told Rolling Stone: ‘I feel betrayed. They said if they ever did anything, they would let me know. They didn’t let me know, and they probably knew I wouldn’t be very happy. I’m very upset about it.

“I feel like they’re trying really hard to erase the past. They’re playing songs that Chester sang. And I don’t know how the fans will take it, but I know how I will take it. And [Armstrong] Singing my son’s songs is hurtful.

She said she last saw Hahn “four or five years ago.” He “promised” he would keep her updated on any updates from the band. He also said he had “no intention of starting the band up again.”

Susan says she saw Shinoda two years ago. She claims that while he did contact Chester’s widow Samantha and son Draven when the band was about to release new songs with Chester, he never told her about the reunion.

Susan said the news of Armstrong’s new lead singer role shocked her, saying, “I heard through Google that Emily Armstrong had joined the band. When I go to Google to search for something, Linkin Park is usually the first thing that comes up. And I saw that whole thing of, ‘We have an announcement.’ That whole week, they were at the top of every Google search.”

Susan took aim at Armstrong’s singing during the band’s livestream, saying she “screamed her way through a really high note. And I just got away from there as fast as I could.”

She said she thought that if the band ever got back together, Shinoda would be the vocalist, as Chester “taught” him.

Susan further alleges that Shinoda threatened to replace Chester with a “girl” and that he often “belittled” Chester.

She claimed that Chester called her and said that “Mike told him during rehearsal, ‘If you decide to leave, we’re going to replace you with a girl.’

Susan said her main message to Linkin Park is that she feels betrayed because of their perceived broken promise to her.

She added: ‘Don’t bother airing Chester’s songs while Emily is singing them.
