Cheryl Hines beamed at her birthday party after learning of the sex scandal between her husband RFK Jr. and young journalist Olivia Nuzzi.

Hines, 59, shared precious moments from the event on her Instagram Story on Saturday night, posing for a photo with her daughter Catherine Young, 20, and stepdaughter Kyra LeMoyne Kennedy, 29.

The joyous moment came just days after it was revealed that her husband had been having an affair with Nuzzi, 31, a reporter for New York Magazine.

The actress, wearing a white lace turtleneck top and black pants, captioned the photo of her with Catherine and Kyra, “Me and my girls,” but her husband was nowhere to be seen.

In another photo posted to Catherine’s profile, Hines was seen grinning widely as she held her hands in front of her face and blew out her birthday candles.

On Friday night, the Curb Your Enthusiam star was beaming as she walked the stage sans wedding ring in Milan, Italy, following a Gucci Fashion Week afterparty.

Despite the attention surrounding her nuptials, Hines appeared to be in good spirits as she waved to her fans, wearing a stylish leather jacket, white shirt and blue pants.

The shocking photos revealed that she had thrown away her large diamond wedding ring, which she wore less than a week ago at the Emmy Awards on Sunday.

As she greeted her fans in Italy, Hines brandished a set of keys on her finger. In the blink of an eye, a smaller band was visible on the ring finger of her left hand.

It’s unclear whether it was a key ring or a smaller, more subtle ring than the one she last showed off in public on Sunday.

Amid the scandal’s aftermath, Hines has remained silent about the state of her decade-long marriage to the 70-year-old Kennedy.

After it became known that the politician had an affair with Nuzzi, which began when she visited his $7 million California mansion to write an article, the journalist was suspended.

Nuzzi, a Washington correspondent, admitted in a statement to DailyMail.com that “the nature of the communications between me and a former reporter became personal.”

She also claimed that the relationship was never physical.

Her editors confirmed that the other party was a “former issue relevant to the 2024 campaign.” Stands reported that the affair involved the former presidential candidate, who is married to Hines.

RFK Jr. has maintained that he met the political journalist only once, when she profiled him last year.

“Had the magazine been aware of this relationship, she would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign,” the statement said. “An internal review of her published work found no inaccuracies or evidence of bias.

“She is currently on leave from the magazine and the magazine is conducting a more thorough third-party investigation. We regret this breach of our readers’ trust.”

Nuzzi has been engaged to Ryan Lizza, Politico’s 50-year-old chief Washington correspondent, since 2022.

The couple has since called off their wedding, however. The New York Post reports that this happened in recent weeks.

Lizza, co-author of Politico Playbook, issued a brief statement in the newsletter Friday afternoon confirming that he would no longer cover the former independent presidential candidate.

The 50-year-old chief Washington correspondent also confirmed that he had broken off his engagement to Nuzzi.

“Because I am connected to this story through my ex-fiancée, my editors and I have agreed that I will not be involved in any coverage of Kennedy in Playbook or elsewhere at POLITICO,” Lizza wrote.

Nuzzi is said to have met RFK, a father of six, for a hiking trip last year as part of a profile she wrote for New York magazine.

A source close to Nuzzi told Status that the relationship only began in the new year, after the profile was published in November 2023.

According to people familiar with the matter, she did not proactively disclose the affair and New York Magazine only recently learned about it.

Her co-star Larry David once described her as “the only person in Hollywood who doesn’t have a single enemy.” The star’s marriage to Kennedy has reportedly cost her a great deal of personal expense over the years.

Her friends reportedly warned the actress about Kennedy’s past as a serial rapist, while others questioned her silence when her husband expressed anti-vaccination rhetoric during the pandemic.

It was David who introduced Kennedy to his Curb Your Enthusiasm colleague in 2006 during a ski weekend in Banff, Canada, for the Waterkeeper Alliance, an environmental nonprofit Kennedy co-founded.

Both Hines and Kennedy were married to other people when they met. Hines was married to Paul Young, founder of the management company Principato-Young, with whom she has one daughter, Catherine.

Kennedy was previously married to his second wife, Mary Richardson Kennedy. He filed for divorce from Mary in 2010, but she committed suicide in 2012 before the proceedings were completed.

By then, Hines and Kennedy had reconnected. They went public with their relationship in October 2011 and married three years later.
