Cher surprises fans by announcing sweet new business venture with the launch of her very own gelato brand: ‘This is real’
Cher has shown himself to be a versatile performer since he rose to fame in 1965 as one half of the folk rock husband and wife duo Sonny & Cher.
Widely known for her award-winning career as a singer and actress, the California native has also used her celebrity in many other business ventures, including everything from being the face of countless beauty brands as a model, her own fashion lines, perfumes, among many others.
And now Cher (née Cherilyn Sarkisian) is about to drop an unexpected, but sweet, new business that has nothing to do with the entertainment industry: her very own gelato brand.
‘Yes, this is real…. I launch my Gelato….” announced the 77-year-old in the caption of a video posted to her Instagram page on Saturday, July 22. ‘Watch Out LA‼️’
The clip, complete with a clip from her hit song Believe, shows an ice cream truck with the name on it and several portraits of Cher in the shape of ice cream cones.

“Cher-lato” was written on the two long sides of the truck in appetizing colors like yellow, pink, orange, and peach, along with her various portrait images taped to the sides and back.
The Strong Enough star further confessed that she has been working on this particular business idea since 2018.
“All started 5 years ago and now it’s finally here,” she revealed, before teasing her 2.6 million fans and followers that “there’s more to come….”
In the clip, the camera starts with the largest image of Cher painted on the truck, showing her holding up a cone full of her tasty treat as she’s about to take a bite.
The show then moves slowly around the parked vehicle, giving viewers a look at the cone-shaped images of herself, which also vary in color, as the clip from Believe plays along.
After being released as the lead single from her eponymous studio album, Believe was nominated for Record Of The Year and Best Dance Recording, winning the latter at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards in February 2000.
Fans of the entertainment icon wasted little time sharing their thoughts on her new venture, with many being very excited and supportive with comments like “Omg, this is the best thing ever” and “I’m so excited.”
‘Love the colors and graphics on the truck! Totally CHERness!’ one person wrote, while there were others who referenced her many successes throughout her career by writing, ‘what can’t you do’.

Others referenced some of Cher’s songs, with one person replying, “Do you believe in ice cream after lunch,” and another fan sharing, “If I could turn back time.”
It turns out to be a choice that few people have already tasted and given a thumbs up to the new Cher gelato.
“Yesterday I tasted a chocolate scoop in a “gold” covered cone from the truck parked at Sunset Boulevard. It was a decadent delight! Tickled to be one of the first to try the delicacy. Wishing you and @giapokitchen great success,” that happy fan shared, along with a red heart emoji.
Then there were others who made suggestions to Cher about flavors they preferred, with comments like, “I hope you have a vegan option Goddess” and “Please have melon.” I can’t find melon gelato anywhere except Spain and Italy. Thank you.’
As the multitasker she’s been for decades, Cher also slipped into promo mode for one of her new songs on Instagram in recent days.
