In the sultry photo, Edwards wore blue jeans and a white, black and blue moto jacket as he sat in a black chair.

He also wore black sunglasses as he wrapped his arms around the music icon's lower back.

Cher, full name Cherilyn Sarkisian, wore a black long-sleeved V-neck shirt and black and white patterned lounge pants, tucked into fluffy white boots.

Her face was lightly made up, complete with gemstones under her eyes. The post was simply captioned: “Love is love.”

This week, a judge rejected Cher's bid to have her drug-affected adult son Elijah placed under her care.

She had petitioned the LA Superior Court last week to appoint her as Elijah's temporary conservator, arguing that his drug addiction, plus mental and physical health problems, leave him unable to manage the $120,000 a year he gets from a trust fund set up for him by his father. late father, rock star Gregg Allman.

Cher said she feared he would spend his $10,000 a month on drugs, putting his life in danger.

Judge Jessica Uzcategui declined to appoint Cher as conservator, saying the star's lawyers did not give Elijah sufficient notice of the legal action and refused to share confidential information about his case with him.

When DailyMail.com asked what he thought of the outcome after the brief hearing, Elijah just smiled and shook his head.

Elijah's wife, with whom he recently reconciled, Marieangela “Queeny” King, 36, appeared next to him at court.

Cher's attorney, Gabrielle Vidal, asked the judge to waive the usual five-day notice required to notify someone of a proposed conservatorship.

Vidal argued that “the lack of a (conservatorship) order today” distributing money to Elijah from his trust fund could put him “in a life-or-death position.”

Cher wants Elijah's trust payments to instead go into a conservatorship bank account that she would control and use to pay his daily living expenses and health care.

But Judge Uzcategui was “not convinced” and noted that Elijah – who appeared in court on Friday tanned and healthy – was given “less than 24 hours' notice at best.”

The judge continued the request for temporary conservatorship until January 29 and ordered Cher's lawyers to share any confidential information they have with her son's legal team a week before the court date.

Elijah and King recently decided to give their 10-year marriage another try and asked another judge to dismiss the pending divorce proceedings.
