Cher shares release date and track list for first compilation album in 20 years – as she prepares to drop two-part memoir this fall

Cher is set to release her first greatest hits album in 20 years.

On Thursday, Warner Records announced that the 78-year-old music icon has personally curated a special collection of 21 of her songs, spanning her decades-long career, which she has “beautifully remastered.”

The compilation album, titled Forever, features some of her biggest hits, including Believe, If I Could Turn Back Time, Song For The Lonely and The Way Of Love.

Additionally, DJ Play’s A Christmas Song, from her 2023 Christmas album, and a live recording of I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For will both be featured on Forever.

Forever will be released on September 20, two months before the release of her upcoming book Cher: The Memoir, Part One.

According to the press release, obtained by Just Jared, Forever’s “special double vinyl packaging is printed on silver foil cardstock with crystal clear translucent vinyl.”

It will also be available on CD and can be pre-ordered at CherForever.net.

The digital release of the Forever Fan Edition will be “available on all streaming services from the same date and will include 19 additional songs.”

Cher has previously released 27 studio albums, 11 compilation albums, two soundtrack albums, and three live albums.

Last week, the Goddess of Pop announced that she’s releasing her memoir in two parts and posted a first look at the cover of her book.

The first book, titled Cher: The Memoir, Part One, will be released on November 19, 2024. The second book is expected to be released in 2025.

The I Got You Babe singer spoke about her early years of fame and her “complicated relationship” with her then-husband Sonny Bono.

She will also likely talk about her romance with her much younger boyfriend, music producer AE Edwards.

A description from HarperCollins Publishers reads: ‘After more than seventy years of fighting to live her life on her own terms, Cher finally reveals her true story in intimate detail.’

The memoir will feature Cher’s “trademark honesty and humor,” it added.

The book added: ‘With her trademark honesty and humor, Cher: The Memoir chronicles how this rough diamond with no plan and little self-confidence managed to rise to become a groundbreaking superstar the world has been unable to ignore for more than half a century.

‘Cher: The Memoir, Part One’ follows her extraordinary beginnings, from childhood to her meeting and marriage to Sonny Bono.

‘And reveals the extremely complicated relationship that made them world famous, but ultimately drove them apart.’

She said in the past that she felt uncomfortable revealing certain details.

Last week, the Pop Goddess announced she’s releasing a two-part memoir, while sharing a first look at the cover of her book

“I just didn’t have the courage to do it, because I don’t know what I was doing, I just didn’t have the courage to do it,” she said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

“I forgot a few things that need to go in there that aren’t comfortable, but they need to go in. So I need to go back and act like a man.”

And she said on The Graham Norton Show , “It’s the hardest thing,” she said. “I’ve lived too long and done so much, it’s very difficult to cast, and we haven’t even finished the script.”

Cher first announced in December 2018 that she would be writing an autobiography.
