Cher reveals she lost virginity at 14 to get REVENGE on older boyfriend in shock memoir admission

Cher has revealed that she lost her virginity at the age of 14 to get revenge on her older boyfriend, in a shocking confession from her recently released memoir, Cher: The Memoir, Part One.

The music icon, now 78, describes how she became involved with a “cute” Italian high school student in the early 1960s, but decided to “lend her virginity to him” after he embarrassed her in front of his friends.

She writes, “An Italian family on our street had a cute son who was in high school. He spent his weekends working on his hot rod while I handed him tools. Then he came to my room, we kissed, he wanted me to hold his other tools, and I said no. I liked his black roadster better than he did.

‘Not that sex was far from my thoughts at the time, as the main conversations between girls at school were about how they spent their weekends with boys but never went to ‘fourth base’.

‘I thought it was all too casual, as if they were ticking things off a list. As a sports fan, I was fed up with their euphemisms and told them, “You’re so childish. You don’t play baseball, you idiots. You’re having sex!” I mean, who did they think they were, Joe DiMaggio?”

‘The neighbor was sweet enough when we were alone, but as soon as his friends came over he treated me like an embarrassing child.

“One day, when his friends suggested a trip to Bob’s Big Boy, he said, ‘Okay, let me get Cher.’ They laughed and said, “Are you going to take that child?” and he dumped me. I was so hurt when he did that that I had revenge sex with him.

I never would have wanted that, or I would have done it one of the five hundred other times he asked. But I was so angry about being fired that I decided to lend my virginity to him if I didn’t lose him.’

Cher said she fired the teen after the “vastly overrated experience came to an end,” writing, “I asked him, ‘Is that it?’ Are we ready?” Then I told him to go home and never come back. I wanted him to feel as rejected as he made me feel. Even though he tried to make amends, I never spoke to him again.

“At school I told my friends that the ‘thing’ they kept talking about was nothing special and that they should keep kissing.”

Cher has unfortunately dealt with countless heartbreaks throughout her decades-long career, starting with her first marriage to Sonny Bono, whom she met when she was just 16 and he was 27.

The two quickly fell in love, married in 1964 and a year later formed the musical duo Sonny & Cher, which became one of the biggest acts of all time and launched them both to major stardom.

But as their careers blossomed, their relationship began to crumble behind the scenes – with Cher later claiming that Sonny didn’t give her “any freedom” during the height of their success and that he “didn’t let her.” everything but work.”

She also accused him of infidelity and admitted that things had gotten so bad that she once considered killing herself.

The two eventually separated in 1974, but Cher suffered another blow when it was revealed during divorce proceedings that he controlled 95 percent of the money they made together, while his lawyer controlled the remaining five percent.

After their divorce, Cher was left with absolutely nothing – except a broken heart – but she didn’t give up and became one of the most successful artists of all time.

Some of her other failed relationships include her short-lived romance with business magnate David Geffen, who came out as gay after they went their separate ways, her marriage to musician Gregg Allman, which ended due to his drug addiction, and her relationship with Bon. Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, who allegedly cheated on her with a fan.

Gregg was the man Cher eventually left David for: a musician who was a member of the Allman Brothers Band.

The two met when she attended one of Gregg’s concerts at the Troubadour in LA with her then-boyfriend David, and they quickly became involved in a whirlwind romance.

“She smelled like what I would imagine a mermaid would smell like,” he later told Rolling Stone of the night they met.

But he described their first meeting as a “disaster” because he “passed out in the bathroom, high on heroin.”

Still, the couple started dating and decided to get married just two months into their romance – they tied the knot in a Las Vegas wedding on June 30, 1975 at Caesars Palace.

But things soon went south due to Gregg’s drug addiction, recalling to Rolling Stone, “There was one problem: She didn’t realize I was a hophead.”

“So I woke up one morning and said to her, ‘Look, I have something to tell you. I’m addicted to narcotics.’ “Well, how do you solve that?” she asked.

“I didn’t get much more than ‘Well…’ ‘I know what we’re going to do,'” she said. “We’ll go back to LA, and I’ll have my doctor friend write you a big prescription for Quaaludes, and then you can just sleep through it. When you wake up, it’ll all be over.’

‘I tried – who cares – but of course it didn’t work. Yet Cher was actually very pleased that I told her the truth about my addiction.’

Nine days after their wedding they decided to divorce, but their relationship did not end there. They reunited a month later and welcomed a son together in 1976, named Elijah Blue.

They also released a joint album in 1977 called Two the Hard Way. But after four years together, in 1979, they officially went their separate ways.

“We had our good times, we had our bad times,” he said. “We were just different in a lot of ways… I was really glad she never asked me what I thought of her singing, because I’m sorry, but she’s not a very good singer.

‘Looking back, I think I was looking for a friend, even if I had to marry one. The point is: I really like women. I’ve always done that.’

Cher spoke positively about her time with Gregg while talking to People afterwards, explaining, “I just didn’t feel like it anymore. He is the kindest, gentlest, loving husband and father. But then he forgets and everything goes wrong.

‘I still care about him deeply, because I never loved anyone the way I loved him. But I don’t love him anymore.’

Cher has been dating music producer Alexander “AE” Edwards, 38, since late 2022.
