Cher, 78, reveals identity of ‘weird’ music producer who pushed her for sex at 15

Cher opened up about the music producer-turned-murderer who propositioned her for sex when she was 15 and later pointed a gun at her.

In her recently released memoir, Cher: The Memoir, Part One, the 78-year-old music icon describes the “weird” interactions she had with the late Phil Spector.

The Moonstruck actress was introduced to the songwriter in the early 1960s through her then-boyfriend, musician Antonino LoTempio.

And he invited then-15-year-old Cher – born Cherilyn Sarkisian – to meet Spector in his hotel room.

“He may have been a demigod to many, but he was acting strange, and I didn’t like the way he was staring at me,” she wrote about the music producer in her memoir.

The goddess of pop recalled the heartbreaking moment he looked her up and down and proposed to her in French.

‘”Voulez-vous coucher with moi?” he said with a grin and asked me to sleep with him,” Cher wrote. The singer responded cheekily that she would have sex with him in exchange for money.

‘Without breaking a sweat, I looked at him again and replied: ‘Oui, pour l’argent.’

She followed up in her book: ‘You could have knocked him over with a feather. He thought I wouldn’t understand the question, let alone have an answer to it.’

Later in the memoir, Cher also discussed the time when Spector illegally used her vocals on a European single, years after their collaboration.

Angrily, the singer confronted Spector about the violation of her contract, but she was met with hostility. According to Cher, the producer tried to intimidate her, but things turned violent.

The late composer reportedly pointed a gun at the superstar to get his point across.

‘I glared at him as he twisted it around his fingers and said, ‘Don’t f**k me, Phillip!’ she wrote in her book of the moment.

“This is me, Cher, okay? …Put the damn gun down and promise me you’ll never do anything like this to my music again, okay?” she said fearlessly.

Cher wrote that Spector quickly apologized, but that she felt uncomfortable with the situation.

Although she doubted he would ever have pulled the trigger, she was still “pissed” about the shocking incident.

The disgraced music producer died of natural causes in 2021 while behind bars for the 2003 second-degree murder of Barbarian Queen actress Lana Clarkson.

Later in her memoir, the star revealed that she lost her virginity at the age of 14 to get revenge on her older boyfriend at the time.
