Music legend Cher has admitted she is struggling to accept the fact that she is getting older, declaring she would do anything to turn back time and live to be 70 again.
The 77-year-old discussed growing older during a pre-recorded interview with the Today show’s Harry Smith on Tuesday morning to mark the 25th anniversary of her hit, Believe.
When asked how ‘great’ it is that Believe has been around for a quarter of a century, Cher replied with a cheeky laugh: ‘It’s not that great, is it? P*sses the f**k out of me!’
Harry then asked, “So you and your age, you’re not friends?”
Cher has admitted that she is struggling to accept the aging process and has stated that she would do anything to turn back time to her 70th birthday.
“No,” Cher admitted. ‘My mother didn’t mind, but I did. I detest it.’
Harry, 72, shared his own struggles with aging, saying: ‘I had a hard time at 70. I admit. I mean, like I’ve really been in a hole for a while.”
His own confession prompted Cher to confess: “I would do anything to be 70 again.”
Cher turned 70 on May 20, 2016. As she entered her eighth decade, she confessed on the Today show: “I just don’t know how to accept it – I don’t want to – but I don’t really know how.’
“If I put 70 candles on my cake I would blow my head out,” she added, before admitting she was “never satisfied” with herself.
“I’ve never really been in love with Cher,” she said. “She’s doing well, but I’m… it’s like I’m not a big fan.”
Cher’s song Believe was released on October 19, 1998 and was a worldwide commercial success.
The song has sold over 11 million copies and is Cher’s most successful single to date.
The singer, 77, revealed she ‘hates’ getting older and isn’t too happy her hit Believe is celebrating its 25th anniversary

In September, Cher revealed the secrets to how she maintains her youthful looks during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.
The singer who admitted she ‘couldn’t believe she’s turning 80 soon’ revealed what she won’t be doing as she gets older.
Speaking to hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, who asked her how she stays so young and radiant, Cher said she would “never cut her hair short or wear jeans again.”
The mantra came as a surprise to Susanna, who debuted on the show with a shorter hairstyle after cutting her hair at the age of 52.
Cher explained, “I remember my friend Paulette and I were talking about when we were going to cut our hair and stop wearing jeans.

Cher, pictured in 1975, has often talked about not feeling old at all and staying on top of trends
‘I can’t believe I’ll be 80 someday, sooner than I’d like. And I’ll still wear my jeans and I’ll still wear long hair.
‘[The] genes in my family are pretty amazing.
‘I don’t know if not feeling old makes you younger. I’m not sure. I follow the trends and have many young friends.
‘I have old friends too. Honestly, I’m not trying to feel young, I’m not trying to be young, I am what I am, whatever that means.”
In May, the icon spoke openly about his 77th birthday in a candid post on Twitter and mused about not feeling old at all.
Her post about her ageless beauty came after her short-lived split from 37-year-old boyfriend Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards.
Cher tweeted at the time: “Okay, someone please tell me… When do I feel old. This is ridiculous. I keep hearing these numbers, but I honestly can’t understand them.
‘WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH #’s!? I’m dyslexic and #’s are hard for me. Thanks for staying, I know it was hard. I have to start training. Twitter is more difficult for me than TweetBot.’
