Cher, 76, argues ‘love doesn’t know math’ amid her relationship with Alexander Edwards, 36

Cher has defended her relationship with boyfriend Alexander Edwards, who is 40 years her junior.

The If I Could Turn Back Time hitmaker, 76, and her love interest, 36, first met almost two months ago and have been seen on numerous dates together.

Cher admitted that because of their extreme age difference, their relationship “looks strange on paper.”

However, the singer added that they were both adults and that “love knows no math.”

She took to Twitter to share a photo of a shirtless Alexander and then tweeted, “On paper this looks strange (even 2 ME) AE says love knows no math.”

One fan defended her in the replies saying, “If you’re happy with AE, I mean really happy, who cares?”

‘One person’s happiness does not depend on what others think or say. Just my opinion.’

Cher replied, “BABE, SOME MARCH 2 ANOTHER DRUMMER, I dance 2 One.”

She also cheekily revealed the couple’s kiss “as teenagers” after another fan asked her what Alexander’s best features were.

Cher replied, “He’s kind, smart, hilarious… and we kiss like teenagers.”

The two met during the Paris Fashion Week which took place from September 26 to October 4, which means they have been together for almost two months.

They were first seen holding hands at Hollywood restaurant Craig’s, before heading to Cher’s home in Malibu on Nov. 3.

She confirmed the romance with a tweet soon after when she shared a picture of her beau next to a heart emoji.

The hitmaker revealed that she is treated “like a queen” by her beau as she gushed about him in a series of posts.

The singer, who has already introduced Alexander to her family, has shrugged off the 40-year age difference.

A fan asked her to confirm the relationship she was having with a series of emojis, adding that they first met at Paris Fashion Week last month.

Cher hit back at trolls, writing, “I’m not defending us. Haters gonna hate… Never mind we’re happy and don’t bother anyone’.

Divorced twice, Cher has a son, Chaz Bono, 53, with her late ex-husband Sonny Bono who died in 1998 aged 62 from injuries sustained after hitting a tree while skiing.

She was later married from 1975 to 1978 to the late singer Gregg Allman, who died in 2017 at the age of 69. Cher and Gregg had son Elijah Blue Allman, 46, together.

Cher has previously said she dates younger men — after dating Ron Zimmerman, who is 12 years her junior, Tom Cruise, when he was 23 and she was 38, and Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora, who is 13 years her junior .

Alexander is best known for dating Kanye West’s ex Amber Rose, 39, with whom he shares three-year-old son Slash Electric Alexander Edwards.

In August, Amber accused the producer of having affairs with 12 different people and he later took to social media to admit that he cheated on her.

Cher ignored fans’ concerns, however, saying, “I’m in love, not blindsided.”

The glamor model and former stripper also has a nine-year-old son Sebastian with rapper Wiz Khalifa, 35.

In August, Amber took to Instagram to express her grievances in a statement that began, “I’m tired of being cheated and being shamed behind the scenes.

“All 12 of you bums (the ones I know are probably more) can have him,” she continued. “You knew very well that he was having a relationship with a baby and you decided to fuck him anyway. I’ve seen all the texts and DMs. You all knew it very well, but you owe me no loyalty, so it doesn’t matter.’

A few days later, Alexander confessed to cheating, saying that while he “loved her,” infidelity was his “true nature.”

Alexander is the vice president of the Artists and Repertoire division of music company Def Jam, which has artists such as Rihanna, Justin Bieber, 2 Chainz, DMX and Jhene Aiko in its signings.

Hailing from Oakland, California, Alexander was born in 1986 and once appeared on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
