Chennedy Carter refused to explain – or answer questions about – her brutal body check on Caitlin Clark after the Indiana Fever W.N.B.A win over the Chicago Sky on Saturday.
Carter pushed Clark to the ground, with television replays appearing to show her shouting “you b***h” at Clark before slamming her rival to the ground.
After the match, however, Carter insisted she wasn’t making fun of Clark. But the guard declined the invitation to discuss the incident.
“I’m not answering Caitlin Clark’s questions,” Carter said at the podium. ‘I don’t know what she said. I said nothing.’
It was not immediately clear how Clark had provoked Carter, if at all, before the Fever star was knocked to the ground.

Clark ultimately had the last laugh – her team held on for a one-point victory and the 71-70 victory was the team’s first home win of the season.
There were 15 seconds left in the third quarter and when time ran out, Clark gave her response to ESPN immediately afterward.
“That’s just not a basketball game, but I have to play through it, that’s what basketball at this level is about,” she said.
The incident caused shock on social media, with USWNT football legend Carli Lloyd slamming Carter and calling her jealous.

In response to Taylor Twellman, another ex-American footballer, who shared the video with the caption: ‘Why?! I don’t get it,” Lloyd wrote: “What you call housing, rent-free. Jealousy at its best.’
Before the game, Clark, the No. 1 pick in this year’s WNBA Draft, said players repeatedly got away with fouls against her.
Although Clark’s broader claims have been debated, Carter seemed fortunate to have escaped without a more severe punishment.
Clark, meanwhile, said midweek after her 30-point game in the loss to the Los Angeles Sparks, “I think everyone is physical against me.
‘They get away with things that other people probably can’t get away with. It is heavy.’
Saturday’s game marked the first time Clark faced her college rival Angel Reese, who was the seventh pick in the WNBA Draft and taken by Chicago.
