Chelsee Healey has revealed she had her caesarean section three weeks before her due date after suffering from ‘dark thoughts’ during her second pregnancy.

The Hollyoaks star, 36, welcomed daughter Cookie last December but has seriously struggled with her mental health before and after.

Chelsee – who also has daughter Coco, seven – revealed she also had postpartum depression.

She told me The sun: ‘I have struggled with my mental health for a long time and it reached its peak during my pregnancy.

“There were times when I would have dark thoughts and then blame myself, thinking, ‘How can I be like this when I’m pregnant and have a young girl who needs her mother?’

‘They had to give me an early caesarean section for my mental health. Cookie was due on January 14th and they put me in for a c-section on December 22nd. They knew I was really struggling.”

She shares Cookie with her partner Eddie, who she wants to keep private.

Chelsee saw a therapist during her difficult pregnancy and continues to do so as Cookie turns one, to get to the bottom of her mental health issues and take medication.

When Cookie was born, Chelsee was criticized for her name choice.

One Instagram follower commented: ‘Stop choosing names for your kids that people will tease them with because you want to be ‘special’.

Which prompted Chelsee to fire back: “@amber.darke every kid who bullies is my kids [angry emoji] we will not tolerate bullying, raise your children better and mind your business’ [sic].

Chelsee later hit back to fire back at the ‘nasty’ messages she had received about her daughter, as she admitted it had been a ‘difficult’ week.

She shared via Instagram Stories: ‘Thank you so much for the beautiful messages and comments about my new little girl.

‘It’s been a tough week, but so happy she’s here and healthy.
