Thomas Tuchel has become the latest Chelsea figure to be given the axe following Todd Boehly’s £4.25billion take over in May.
The new owner has wasted no time in discarding the German manager – giving Tuchel his marching orders just seven games into the season.
Tuchel – who lasted 100 days under Boehly – will follow former sporting director Marina Granovskaia, CEO Guy Laurence and technical and performance advisor Petr Cech in departing the club.
Boehly made the decision to sack Tuchel following Chelsea’s 1-0 Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb as the Blues are currently squandering sixth in the Premier League and struggling for form under the German boss.
Tuchel will now join a long list of axed Chelsea figures such as Granovskaia, Laurence, Cech and Bruce Buck – who have been outlined below.

BRUCE BUCK
Chelsea confirmed that Buck would be stepping down as the club’s chairman just three weeks after Boehly took over from Roman Abramovich in a £4.25billion deal.
The Government had urged the Blues to ditch their long-standing links to Abramovich after he was sanctioned due to his close ties with Russian president Vladimir Putin.
Therefore, Chelsea felt it was important to distance themselves from Buck, who was appointed as the club’s chairman towards the start of the Russian’s ownership 19 years ago.

Although, Buck made it clear he wanted to remain as Chelsea’s chairman during the sale process and insisted he would help the London-based club thrive under their new owner.
However, things didn’t go according to plan for Buck as Boehly announced the 76-year-old would be stepping down as the club’s chairman just three weeks after his arrival.
Boehly – who was clearly eager to draw a line under the Abramovich regime – thanked Buck for his work in the role.
He said: ‘Bruce has led Chelsea Football Club to the highest levels of international and domestic football, while also developing one of the most active social responsibility projects in sport. We thank Bruce for his service and his commitment to the Club.’
That being said, Buck did not leave Stamford Bridge for good. The 76-year-old took up a role as a Senior Advisor at Chelsea instead.
MARINA GRANOVSKAIA
Granovskaia was another casualty of the Boehly regime. The 47-year-old controlled day-to-day dealings at the club and handled Chelsea’s transfers before departing in June 2022.
Granovskaia played a vital role at Chelsea – pulling strings for Chelsea’s move to their Cobham training complex and orchestrating a lucrative long-term sponsorship deal with Nike.

She also helped sign the likes of Mason Mount, David Luiz, Cesar Azpilicueta, Reece James, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, N’Golo Kante and many more.
Her duties didn’t stop with the men’s team either, as had been seen holding a Chelsea shirt alongside Sam Kerr at her signing in 2019.
PETR CECH
Cech – who had been Chelsea’s technical and performance advisor since 2019 – followed Granovskaia and Buck in stepping away from their roles following the arrival of Boehly.
He confirmed his exit by saying: ‘It has been a huge privilege to perform this role at Chelsea for the past three years. With the club under new ownership, I feel now is the right time for me to step aside.
Petr Cech also left his role at Chelsea following the arrival of Boehly earlier this year
Cech took up his role in 2019 and even had to play peacemaker with protesting fans last year
‘I am pleased that the club is now in an excellent position with the new owners, and I am confident of its future success both on and off the pitch.’
The former Czech Republic international was an icon at Stamford Bridge. He played an integral role in the club’s long period of domestic and European success during the Abramovich era.
GUY LAURENCE
Chelsea’s former CEO Laurence also made the decision to step down once Boehly’s takeover of the club had been completed.
Laurence had already decided to leave the club before the new ownership change began but stayed on to ensure a smooth transition period.
During his time at Chelsea, the club’s turnover grew 20 per cent from £360m to £435m. Laurence managed to achieve such results despite a two-year pandemic putting the brakes on a lot of revenue streams.

As a result of the departure of several board members, Chelsea confirmed the appointment of Tom Glick as the club’s new president of business.
Glick, who previously worked at Manchester City as the club’s chief commercial and operating officer, assumed responsibility for day-to-day operations at Chelsea.
He is also responsible for managing the club’s global commercial strategy, driving revenue growth and enhancing fan engagement.
