Mason Mount is expected to undergo a scan for a thigh problem, but Chelsea are still hopeful he will be fit enough to play Aston Villa on Sunday, according to reports.
The midfielder came out on Tuesday at halftime in Chelsea’s 2-0 win against AC Milan after winning a penalty and providing an assist for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before half-time.
It has now been reported that he missed practice on Friday and was sent to his thigh for further examination, as reported by the athletic.

The decision to have Mount’s matter investigated is seen as a precautionary measure, and the Blues hope it’s just a minor setback.
The 23-year-old has found form under Graham Potter as he provided two assists against Wolves last Saturday before starring in the first half at the San Siro.
After a quiet start to the season under Thomas Tuchel, who also saw him drop out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad last month, he appears to be at his best in recent weeks.
Southgate will also sweat over Mount’s fitness, with the World Cup in just five weeks, but there is no suggestion at this stage that the 32-cap international is in doubt for the tournament.
However, his condition may cause Chelsea more concern after the club suffered two injuries this week.
N’Golo Kante (R) is not expected to play until after the World Cup due to a hamstring injury
Reece James also doubts for World Cup after knee injury
N’Golo Kante is expected to be out until after the World Cup after aggravating the hamstring injury that has plagued him since the start of the season.
Meanwhile, Reece James is now also a major doubt for Qatar after coming out in Milan on Tuesday night.
James bumped his knee in that match and it was initially hoped it wasn’t serious, but it has since been revealed that he suffered ligament damage and may require surgery, which would almost certainly put him out of the World Cup.
Losing Mount would leave Potter without three key players, but the attacking midfielder could still make the roster for Chelsea’s trip to Villa Park this weekend.
