Noni Madueke declared in a remarkable post on Instagram that ‘this place sucks’.

The striker is still waiting for his first starting spot of the season under new manager Enzo Maresca, having almost lost his time in the team at the end of last season following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino.

He was an unused substitute in the Blues’ season-opening defeat to Manchester City last weekend and was only on the bench for the Conference League play-off clash against Servette in midweek, but did score.

Although he has been linked with a move away from the Blues this summer, the 22-year-old has travelled to Wolverhampton to feature in Chelsea’s opening away game of the season against Wolves on Sunday.

He’s not exactly happy about it, though. On Instagram on Saturday night, Madueke appeared to brand Wolverhampton ‘s***’ before quickly deleting the post.

The Chelsea winger claimed he accidentally shared the post to the ‘wrong Instagram account’

Madueke shared his location, Wolverhampton, in the post. It appears this post was made by mistake.

He later shared: ‘Bloody wrong Instagram account. Y’all are too fast.’

The news came just hours before his team were due to play Wolves, which was due to kick off at 2pm (BST) on Sunday afternoon at Molineux.

Madueke has 960,000 followers on the platform and later shared a post previewing the competition.

He is one of the few players who seem to have made it into Maresca’s squad, while there are still dozens of players in the first team.

The Italian stated that a maximum of twenty players are training alongside the first team, meaning they could potentially leave the club in the final days of the transfer window.

“Whether it’s a six-year contract or a 20-year contract, I don’t care,” Maresca said this week. “I’m only here to make the right decisions for the team. As for the contract situation, that’s not my job.

“You like to say we have 42 or 43 players. Today’s session is with 20 players. Yesterday’s session was with 21. But the other 15 or 20, they train separately. Chelsea players, yes, 42 or 43, for sure, but they don’t work with me every day.

“I don’t see them, so it’s not as messy as it looks from the outside. Absolutely not.”

However, Raheem Sterling is not and has been told he must leave if he wants regular playing time.

One of the players who has been sacked is Raheem Sterling. Maresca says it is ‘better’ for Sterling to leave the club if he wants regular playing time.

Mail Sport exclusively released a statement from Sterling’s team last week, asking for ‘clarity’ over his future, but that statement now appears to have been taken outside Stamford Bridge.

Madueke has meanwhile been linked with a move to Newcastle following the arrival of Pedro Neto.

In total, he has scored 10 goals in 47 games for Chelsea since joining from PSV in 2023.
