Chelsea are set to bring in at least one more striker after signing Pedro Neto from Wolves last night for £54million.

Neto, who was also admired by Manchester City and Newcastle United, has signed a six-year contract with an option for a further year. He will be presented to the Stamford Bridge crowd in today’s friendly against Internazionale.

The 24-year-old has shone for Wolves over the past five years, scoring 14 goals and providing 24 assists in 135 games for the club.

The shocking news broke on Friday that Chelsea had agreed a deal for the Portugal international after two bids were rejected, with him subsequently undergoing a medical.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid for £34.5million after he arrived in London on Saturday. Chelsea are still hoping to sign a player by attempting to broker a loan for Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

Napoli confirmed last night that Osimhen has requested to leave the club after he was left out of the Coppa Italia squad for the match against Modena.

They have already spent over £200m this summer, but they will make up for that by selling at least seven players permanently or on loan.

Juventus have made enquiries about Raheem Sterling but have not held further talks while Trevoh Chalobah, Armando Broja and Romelu Lukaku are training with the training group pending offers.

Chalobah is attracting interest from Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, while striker David Fofana is attracting interest from Leicester City and Lukaku is interested in Napoli.

Elsewhere, centre-back Bashir Humphreys has offers from Leeds United and Burnley.

Goalkeepers Kepa Arrizabalaga and Djordje Petrovic, midfielders Cesare Casadei and Lesley Ugochukwu are expected to leave, while offers are still being considered for Carney Chukwuemeka and Ben Chilwell.

The latest transfer news comes after Chelsea defender Reece James suffered a setback after picking up a new hamstring injury.
