Borussia Dortmund sensation Youssoufa Moukoko has claimed he is “shocked” by rumors that he has halted contract negotiations with the club and insists he is “fully focused” on playing for the German team.

The 18-year-old, currently being pursued by Chelsea, has already made a name for himself in Germany, scoring 11 Bundesliga goals in 44 games since making his debut in 2020.

His contract runs out at the end of this season, but Dortmund are understandably interested in keeping the youngster at Signal Iduna Park, although some reports suggested Moukoko was putting off negotiations on a new deal amid interest from other clubs.

He has now shut down these rumors, as he posted on Twitter: ‘Please don’t believe everything that has been written in the newspapers.

I will not let myself be pressured into making a decision about my future. I will never accept such a lie about myself. My full focus is on the second half of the season with Borussia Dortmund.

No player is bigger than the club and I will never be bigger than the club, only a small part of it. It’s so sad that something like this would be made up just to paint the fans the wrong image of me. I am really shocked by this story.’

Graham Potter’s Chelsea are reportedly interested in the young Dortmund striker.

Whether he stays at Dortmund or not, Moukoko has already put together an impressive list of achievements.

He is the youngest player to appear in the Bundensliga and Champions League, and became the youngest German international to appear in a World Cup when he came on as a substitute in their now-infamous loss to Japan.

The next Dortmund will be in Bundesliga action when they take on Augsburg at home on January 22.
