Graham Potter’s West London side are looking to add the French international to their squad

The son of French World Cup winner Lilian Thuram, Marcus made his international debut in 2020 and was part of Didier Deschamps’ team that finished second at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Thuram currently sits second in the Bundesliga goalscoring rankings with ten goals in 15 appearances in the German top flight, placing him behind only fellow French international Christopher Nkunku.

Chelsea have also shown interest in Thuram’s brother, 21-year-old Nice midfielder Khephren, as an alternative option to Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez.

Newcastle have also been keeping an eye on Kephren, while both clubs also like Kouadio Kone in Gladbach.

Chelsea, who officially completed the signing of Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama yesterday, have also consulted Red Bull Leipzig winger Dani Olmo in case talks about Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk fall through.

Chelsea wants to drive for Ukraine, but believes his preference is to join Arsenal.

However, the Gunners are reluctant to pay an inflated fee, after offering a deal of up to £62m including add-ons.

They are also trying to reduce the transfer requested by Atlético de Madrid for striker Joao Félix.

Shakhtar Donetsk striker Mykhaylo Mudryk has attracted interest from Chelsea and Arsenal.
