Chelsea set to apply for agent’s £3m High Court claim relating to Kurt Zouma’s previous move to West Ham quashed over incorrect filing
Chelsea will apply to the High Court to have agent Saif Rubie’s £3million claim dismissed.
Rubie, the agent who was cleared of sending a threatening email to Marina Granovskaia earlier this year, is suing the Stamford Bridge club and their former director for commission over Kurt Zouma’s move from Chelsea to West Ham in 2021.
However, the West London club wants the case to be thrown out, claiming the case was filed incorrectly and that the Football Association should hear the case through arbitration.
The FA regulations state that ‘disputes arising out of or in connection with a representation agreement which has no international dimension shall be settled exclusively between the parties in accordance with Rule K (Arbitration) of the Rules’.
However, Mail Sport understands that Rubie is confident he has brought the case correctly as Granovskaia has not participated in football since leaving Chelsea and therefore FA rules do not apply.

A spokesman for Rubie said: ‘Chelsea and Ms Granovskaia have a clear interest in preventing [Rubie’s] claims not to be heard in a public hearing given the ongoing investigations into the club and its activities under its previous ownership.’
The Premier League is currently investigating possible breaches of financial regulations, which are alleged to have occurred under Roman Abramovich’s reign.

Mail Sport reported last week that Rubie is claiming around £3million for his role in the transfer.
Under FIFA law, an agent acting on behalf of a selling club is entitled to up to 10 percent of the transfer fee.
Chelsea received a total of £29.1million when they sold Zouma to their London rivals.
Earlier this year, Rubie was cleared of malicious communications in connection with an email sent to Granovskaia regarding a sum of money he said he was owed from the Zouma deal.
