Chelsea's afternoon went from bad to worse as they suffered their eighth Premier League defeat of the season against Wolves.
In the first half, Raheem Sterling had a golden opportunity to put the Blues ahead after pouncing on a misplaced pass and finding himself in a three-on-one situation on his way to goal.
However, the 29-year-old opted to shoot rather than pass to Cole Palmer or Nicolas Jackson next to him, a decision that angered Blues fans on social media.
Mario Lemina's header after the break put the club behind before the hour mark and Matt Doherty's injury was compounded by doubling the hosts' lead in stoppage time.
Christopher Nkunku scored his first goal for the club since arriving in the summer, but it would prove to be in vain as a frustrated Chelsea failed to find a late equalizer.

These frustrations were clearly visible during the action, with four players receiving yellow cards during regular time.
Sterling was then booked in stoppage time as the visitors looked for a second goal before Marcus Bettinelli found himself in the referee's book for dissent from the bench.
The replacement goalkeeper's sanction is made even more remarkable by the fact that he has never played a Premier League game for the Blues and has played just one league match in all competitions since joining from Fulham in the summer of 2021.
One of the players warned was third-choice goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli, who has never played a Premier League game for the club.
Under FA rules, any club receiving six or more warnings or dismissals, including the dug-out area, will be fined.
According to the FA disciplinary regulations: 'The Association will take disciplinary action against a Club if six or more Players of the Club are cautioned or sent off in a Category 1 or Category 3 Match.'
As well as Sterling and Bettinelli, Conor Gallagher, Cole Palmer, Malo Gusto and Nicolas Jackson were all cautioned by referee David Coote at Molineux.
Liverpool received the same FA sanction for poor discipline during their defeat to Tottenham in October and were fined £25,000.
