- Trevoh Chalobah played a part in Chelsea’s pre-season this month
- But his future is now in doubt after he was left out of their squad for their trip
- Chalobah is likely to seek a move away from his boyhood club for playing time
Chelsea have left Trevoh Chalobah out of their squad for the pre-season tour of the United States, with the defender likely to seek another club.
Despite taking part in Enzo Maresca’s training sessions this summer, Chalobah was reportedly told to stay home in a shocking rejection that leaves his future uncertain.
The 25-year-old played 13 games in the Premier League last season, but appears to have become surplus to requirements under the recently appointed head coach.
Indeed, according to The AthleticsWesley Fofana, Axel Disasi and new signing Tosin Adarabioyo are all the preferred options at right back, while young Josh Acheampong will be given the chance to impress at right back.
Fabrizio Romano has stated that he has been instructed not to travel with his teammates and that the Blues are prepared to approve his departure.

Clubs including Crystal Palace, West Ham and Fulham have recently been linked with his arrival, while Manchester United were also rumoured to be interested in his signature.
Chalobah has rejected multiple opportunities to leave Stamford Bridge over the past 18 months. As reported by Post SportNottingham Forest had a £25million bid rejected last summer, and Tottenham’s latest attempt was also rejected.
He missed much of last season with a hamstring injury, but later managed to cement himself into Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line-up for the latter part of the campaign.
Chalobah was particularly praised for his role in the run of five consecutive Premier League victories, which ended a rollercoaster season for the club.
Chalobah, with a contract until June 2028, would likely receive a reasonable salary.

Last season he played 13 games in the Premier League after recovering from injury.
The Blues are prepared to accept Chalobah’s departure as his future becomes increasingly uncertain
Chalobah progressed through Cobham’s youth ranks between 2007 and 2018, before earning a place in the first team and making his debut in 2021.
He was loaned out three times, playing for Ipswich, Huddersfield and Ligue 1 club Lorient, before being allowed to leave again temporarily.
However, a permanent departure seems the most likely option, with Chelsea actively looking for ways to sell unwanted players to raise funds for further spending.
Chalobah has played 80 games for the club so far.
Blues supporters took to social media en masse to vent their anger at the decision to keep him out, with the club’s hierarchy in the spotlight.
“Selling Trevoh Chalobah makes absolutely no sense,” wrote one X account. “He talks on the field and somehow that’s not enough.”
Another shared footage of Chalobah’s memorable goal against Crystal Palace on his Premier League debut and said: ‘Look what it means to score for your boyhood club! Trevoh Chalobah deserves so much more respect.
“Some in the club need to be reminded of this. There is no way to treat one of your own people.”
Elsewhere, as reported by Email SportsThe Blues have enquired about the availability of Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen as they look to compete for the position.
Robert Sanchez will remain at the club, while Kepa Arrizabalaga is likely to leave.
