- Fans believe Enzo Fernandez revealed the transfer during the festivities
Chelsea fans are convinced Enzo Fernandez may have revealed the club’s signing of Kylian Mbappe following their Premier League Summer Series victory.
Mail Sport reported on Sunday evening that the Blues are looking to hijack Liverpool’s sensational move for the French World Cup winner.
It comes as the 24-year-old approaches a departure from Paris Saint-Germain, after the club put him up for sale last week and left him out of their pre-season tour.
The striker’s ongoing contract story with the Paris team has soured their relationship to the point that the club are now hoping to cash in on their superstardom, with Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s side accepting a staggering £259 million transfer offer for the striker.
It has been made clear he does not want to join the Saudi Pro League squad, with Liverpool reportedly ‘holding talks’ with the Frenchman, who has 12 months left on his contract at Parc des Princes.

Meanwhile, Chelsea won the Premier League Summer Series title yesterday and fans think they heard Enzo Fernandez (third from left) say the Frenchman’s name too much
Chelsea, meanwhile, are also interested in signing the superstar and their fans seem to think he’s headed to Stamford Bridge after their Argentina midfielder seemingly heard his name spoken after their 2-0 win against Fulham on Sunday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side went on to clinch the pre-season title after going undefeated in the US tournament, with Reece James and Thiago Silva step forward to lift the trophy alongside their teammates.
And just as they lifted the cup into the air, fans thought they heard their midfielder, Fernandez, say Mbappé’s name.
‘I heard it loud and clear,’ said one, while another added, ‘Hearing that for the first time… What is he on to?’
“I can’t wait for Boehly to offer Mbappe a 10-year contract,” one person wrote.
“Actually weird thing to think of saying right now tbh…unless he knows something we don’t know,” another Twitter user added, posting a thinking face emoji to the Tweet.
Fans take to Twitter to respond to claims they heard Enzo Fernandez pronounce Mbappé’s name at their trophy celebrations
Pochettino has been tight-lipped in the past about the possibility of capturing Mbappé (pictured).
According to the Daily recordChelsea are said to be interested in signing the French striker in a player plus cash deal.
But Pochettino declined to confirm last week his side were interested in signing Mbappé, claiming the situation was “delicate”.
“I need to be conscious,” the manager told Sky Sports after his side’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle last week. “I can’t talk because all you talk is too much noise, it’s a very delicate situation and it’s a situation they have to solve in Paris with Kylian, Kylian with PSG.
‘But nothing to say from our side. We work in our reality, their reality is different – and they certainly have a different reality.
“And nothing to say on my part – just to support them and hope they find the best solution for both sides.”
