Marc Cucurella was seen wearing strange boots at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday after a strong challenge tore off one of his starting pair.
The Chelsea defender went to inspect the boot after the Blues’ 2-0 win over Bournemouth, but found it torn and limped off to find a new one.
A backroom member of the club presented in impressive timing a replacement for Cucurella, but one markedly different from the one they had just botched.
The 24-year-old opted to keep his other shoe intact, meaning he played much of the second half in one orange and one silver shoe.
