Chelsea are interested in re-signing one of their former goalkeepers, according to a report.

New manager Enzo Maresca is looking to expand his squad this summer after arriving as a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino, and could bring in a shot-stopper as his second signing following the arrival of Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham.

Last season, the Blues’ number 1 spot was up for grabs, with Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic both in goal in what has been a chaotic season for the London club.

According to L’Equipethey could look to France to improve their position as they have reportedly avoided breaching Premier League financial rules, with one of their former goalkeepers, who left the club five years ago, shortlisted by the club was standing.

It is Nice star Marcin Bulka who could rejoin the Blues after spending three years with the club’s academy before being released as a teenager, going on to play for the likes of PSG and his country, Poland.

Bulka, an ever-present with Nice in Ligue 1, never made a Chelsea first-team debut after joining from FCB Escola Varsovia in 2016.

However, he signed professional terms with the club, making numerous appearances for their academy, but left for France when his contract expired in the summer of 2019.

At PSG he made two first-team appearances, with his three-year stay including loan spells at Cartagena in Spain and Chateauroux in Ligue 2.

In 2021 he was loaned out to Nice with an option to buy, and the following season he featured regularly in the club’s cup matches before the deal was made permanent in the summer.

The now 24-year-old made just two appearances in Ligue 1 in his debut season at the club, but was a regular last season, making 37 appearances for the INEOS side in the league.

Nice’s defensive record was the best in Ligue 1 last season, finishing fifth in the table and conceding just 29 goals, at least four fewer than any other team.

Reports suggest Bulka wants to quadruple his salary in any deal and is interested in new terms in France towards the end of the season.

It is thought he earns just under £11,000 per week under his current contract, meaning his wages would not be too expensive for the Blues if they were to add him to their books. Reports indicate that Nice only wants to triple its current rate.

The Pole, who will represent his country at the 2024 European Championship this summer, has a contract with Nice until 2026, with AC Milan also said to be interested in signing him.

A move would see him leave Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS’ Nice, with the Red Devils boss reportedly looking to sell the club.

Manchester United Minority owners INEOS now want to sell sister club Nice, the club said The independent.

Both clubs are expected to be granted a one-season transition period by UEFA to compete in the Europa League, with complications surrounding multi-club ownership prompting Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co to reportedly sell the French side.

Earlier this year, INEOS bought a 27.7 percent stake in United and they are keen to oversee significant changes at the club.
