Chelsea are closing in on deadline day deals for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and midfielder Denis Zakaria and may not be finished there in terms of incomings.

Having already agreed the Aubameyang deal with Barcelona, a last ditch deal for Memphis Depay is also being explored.

The former Manchester United forward was close to joining Juventus last month and has been given permission to leave Barcelona and could follow Aubameyang to Stamford Bridge.

A path has been cleared for Depay to leave the Catalan side ever since Robert Lewandowski’s July arrival from Bayern Munich – when the Dutchman had his No.9 shirt taken from him.

Shortly afterwards, when Barcelona were rushing to sell players to allow them to register their new signings, he was linked with potential moves to Juventus, Manchester United and Tottenham.

But it seems Thomas Tuchel’s side are leading the race for the 28-year-old – who scored 13 goals in 38 appearances in his debut season for Barcelona.

He’s only spent a year with the Catalan side, but has already been deemed surplus to requirements after the arrivals of Lewandowski and Raphinha from Leeds.

Meanwhile, the Blues have already struck a deadline-day deals for his Barcelona team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Juventus’ Denis Zakaria.

Talks over the Aubameyang have been ongoing for weeks and the Blues have long been optimistic of their chances of getting a deal done, having now agreed a deal for £12m.

Sportsmail understands Chelsea have an option to buy the midfielder, 25, for £30million once his loan spell ends.

After failing in efforts to sign Edson Alvarez from Ajax and Ibrahim Sangare from PSV Eindhoven, Chelsea have turned to the 6ft 3ins Swiss international, who moved to Juventus in January for £4m after leaving Borussia Monchengladbach.
