Chelsea consider signing for Kasper Schmeichel as they look for another goalkeeper following Kepa Arrizabalaga’s move to Real Madrid
Kasper Schmeichel has been discussed as a potential Chelsea goalkeeper, Transfer confidential can reveal.
The Blues have been forced back into the transfer market for another shot-stopper after Kepa Arrizabalaga moved to Real Madrid on loan.
Robert Sanchez joined the Brighton club this summer for £25 million and made his debut in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Sunday.
However, it is unclear whether manager Mauricio Pochettino sees the Spaniard as a first-choice goalkeeper in attack, and he must add competition with Lucas Bergstrom on the bench for Sunday’s game.
Schmeichel has extensive Premier League experience from his time at Leicester, which he left last season to join Nice in Ligue 1.

But he may return to England this summer, and the French side have received previous approaches from Brentford and Nottingham Forest for the 36-year-old.
Brentford could sack Thomas Strakosha this season, so are in the market for a new shot-stopper, especially after loaning David Raya to Arsenal.
Schmeichel is willing to leave Nice but wants a top project and Chelsea will of course appeal.
He would charge a minimal fee if he returned to the Premier League, having left Leicester for just £1 million 12 months ago.
