Chelsea complete £40 million signing of defender Axel Disasi from Monaco on a six-year contract

Chelsea have completed the signing of defender Axel Disasi from Monaco for £40 million.

Disasi has signed a six-year contract with Chelsea, with the Blues taking on competition from Manchester United and Newcastle.

Disasi stated that he would like to “win big things” at Chelsea. He told the the club’s official website“It’s something I’ve been waiting for.

“I’m so happy to be here, at this great club. I’m really proud to be a part of this amazing family and I hope to achieve great things here. To win titles. I will do everything I can to achieve those goals. I am very ambitious.’

The 25-year-old also spoke of his excitement playing for the Chelsea fans.

He said: ‘I can’t wait to feel the energy of the fans.

“This is a very good stadium, one where you are close to the fans. A typical English stadium, I think.

“The enthusiasm of the fans in the Premier League, the atmosphere, the intensity of the matches: it’s something that excites me.”
