Chelsea boss Emma Hayes dedicates her side’s FA Cup final win against Man United to the club’s fans as she admits the Blues have “suffered” over the past 12 months following a change of ownership and a dismal season for the men’s team

Chelsea boss Emma Hayes dedicated her side’s third successive FA Cup win to the club’s supporters and property after a season of ‘suffering’.

Sam Kerr scored in her sixth successive cup final to give the Blues a 1–0 victory over Manchester United at Wembley.

Hayes hopes the win will soften the blow of a difficult year on the men’s side.

“I am a football fan, I have seen how much our football club has suffered this year,” she said.

“We have changed hands, the men’s team is not doing very well, Chelsea fans, that was for you. I hope we’ve given you something to smile about this year, the whole club, including the owners.’

Hayes, who has won 14 trophies in 11 years, added: ‘I will never get tired of this (success). I mean this, hand on my heart, I could cry about it.’
