Chelsea have been criticized for mocking Leeds’ relegation to the Championship on their official Twitter account.
During their live coverage of the game between Leeds and Chelsea at Elland Road last August (a game Leeds won 3-0), Chelsea tweeted ‘Start asserting ourselves!’ in the 30th minute before calling Leeds goals from Brenden Aaronson and Rodrigo in the space of seven minutes.
That led to Leeds’ official report: ‘Life comes as you fast!’.
Chelsea certainly haven’t forgotten that tweet, as after Leeds’ relegation to the Championship was confirmed on Sunday, they quoted the original tweet saying: ‘It sure does.’
However, many Twitter users were keen to point out that Chelsea were in no position to mock others as they endured a terrible campaign themselves.
