English Premier League giant Chelsea have agreed a £14 million deal for New England Revolution Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.
The 23-year-old is expected to undergo a medical examination within 48 hours.
It is not clear whether this transfer will be immediate or delayed – as has been the case with MLS transfers in the past – but Chelsea are currently in need of additional goalkeepers.
The Blues currently have three goalkeepers on loan: Kepa Arrizabalaga at Real Madrid, Teddy Sharman-Lowe at Bromley and Gaga Slonina at KAS Eupen.
But currently Chelsea only have Richard Sanchez in net after his transfer from Brighton in the summer.

Back-up keeper Marco Bettinelli is injured and 20-year-old Lucas Bergstrom is the only other remaining goalkeeper available to Chelsea.
In addition to the loaned goalkeepers sold The Blues Edouard Mendy this summer at the Saudi Pro League.
Petrovic has been starring in the Revolution since their previous keeper, Matt Turner, also left for the Premier League when he joined Arsenal in 2022. Turner now plays at Nottingham Forest.
If the deal goes through, Petrovic would be the second MLS goalkeeper to join the West Londoners this season after Slonina moved from Chicago Fire on New Year’s Day.
Petrovic finished second in the running for 2022 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year, despite making just 21 appearances last season.
Petrovic was also named a 2023 MLS All-Star and currently leads the league with 99 saves and a percentage of 78.6.
