Chelsea have reportedly triggered the £35m release clause in Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise’s contract as Todd Boehly spending continues.
The 21-year-old France Under-21 international is expected to be the latest summer signing at Stamford Bridge. The athletic reported.
Mail Sport’s Transfer Confidential column revealed on Monday that Chelsea had stepped up their pursuit of Olise.
He was a youth player at Chelsea between 2009 and 2016.
Olise is currently recovering from a torn hamstring suffered earlier this summer while playing for France in the Under-21 European Championship, which will see him sidelined until the end of September.

He would be the latest signing at the West London club as American owner Todd Boehly splashes the cash once again.
They have just secured a UK record £115 million contract to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton and hunt Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.
If they sign a deal for Lavia, Chelsea’s summer spending would cross the £400 million mark, having also signed Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, Nicolas Jackson, Robert Sanchez, Lesley Ugochukwu and Angelo Gabriel.
The purchase of Olise would also bring the total amount spent since the acquisition of Boehly close to £1bn.
Since joining from Reading two years ago in a deal worth £8.37 million, Olise has established himself as a key figure in Roy Hodgson’s team.
In April, he became the youngest player to assist with three goals from open play in a single Premier League game as Palace beat Leeds 5–1.
And in May, Olise became the first Palace player to score 10 assists in a single Premier League season. His grand total of 11 was the fourth highest in the top flight.
