A chef accused of hacking his waitress girlfriend to death before cutting out her heart and placing it next to her mutilated body faces life in prison.
Police found the gruesome remains of the 48-year-old victim, named Patricia by locals, in the apartment she shared with chef Jozef Hanuska in the Slovak capital Bratislava.
In the same room, officers found a bucket containing her intestines and other organs that the mad chef had cut from her body.
According to local media, the killer had also placed a British passport on a sheet that he had thrown over the body lying on the bed.
Shocked neighbors said the pair often argued, with one saying he had often heard Hanuska threaten to 'rip her head off'.

Another neighbor, well-known Slovak actress Bibiana Ondrejková, said: “I didn't know them personally, but I knew about them.
'I knew that these were people who had an alcohol problem and that there were regular arguments between them.'
And another said: 'Did he intend to eat them? Why take them out and put them in a bucket?
Another said: 'He was vulgar. Patricia often apologized for his behavior, saying they had “an Italian household”.
“We could often hear her yelling at him not to yell at her.”
Police were called to the scene last Wednesday after a family member received a text message from the chef saying he was going to commit suicide.
Instead, he went on the run, but was arrested Friday after police found him hiding in a basement.
On Saturday he was charged with the woman's murder.
The chef describes himself as follows: 'I have been working in gastronomy for over 20 years and that is why I dare to say that cooking is not my job, but my life.
'He was vulgar. Patricia often apologized for his behavior,” a neighbor said of the woman

The 47-year-old writes on his website: 'Cooking delicious classic dishes, sometimes even in a modern version, is my specialty.
'I cook wherever there is food. Yes, you read that correctly. I am a cook for the carriage, but also for the wagon.
'Wherever I am called, I like to come and cook delicious classics that I know, but also in a modern way.'
He added that in addition to providing recipes, he is also available to cook in restaurants, at home or at social events.
Following the man's arrest, police said: 'Thanks to a rigorous operational investigation, investigators from Bratislava arrested a person reasonably suspected of the crime in question on Friday afternoon.

They added that the man has now been charged with her murder.
