Check out today’s PlayStation 5 tech presentation – will we finally see the PS5 Pro?
Sony has announced a surprise tech presentation for the PlayStation 5, likely providing the company’s first official look at its next major console: the long-awaited PlayStation 5 Pro.
To help you prepare for the broadcast, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming broadcast, including when and where to watch and what to expect from the showcase.
Start time
The PlayStation 5 technical presentation will air later today, September 10, at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST.
Where to watch?
If you want to watch the PlayStation 5 technical presentation live, you can tune in to the PlayStation YouTube Channel or the PlayStation Twitch Channel.
As with most broadcasts in the industry, there will likely be a countdown clock prior to the actual event, in case viewers tune in too late.
What can you expect?
Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation 5 technical presentation will be a 9-minute livestream and will be hosted by PlayStation 5 Chief Architect Mark Cerny, and that the presentation will “focus on PS5 and innovations in games technology”.
While there’s no confirmation at this point, there’s good reason to believe that Sony will finally unveil the PS5 Pro, a more powerful and technically advanced version of its 2020 console.
Rumors surrounding the console have been piling up for months. Industry insider Jeff Grubb recently reported that the PS5 Pro could launch during the holiday season — likely between October and December — and could potentially cost between $600 and $700.
Grubb also predicted that the console’s official reveal would happen in September, as it did during a State of Play livestream, but an announcement during the PlayStation 5’s final tech presentation seems most likely.
