The Apple Watch 6 debuted in September 2020 with an introductory price of $399 / £379 – the same base cost as the 2019 Series 5.

The feature-rich Apple Watch 6 comes with a few major upgrades over the Series 5 – namely a new blood oxygen monitor (with a companion app) and a brand new S6 dual-core processor, which Apple claims is 20% faster than the previous year model. Aside from these major upgrades, the always-on display is back, but it’s been dramatically improved with some nifty new notification controls so you can interact without waking the watch up completely.

The Apple Store no longer carries the Apple Watch 6, so like the Series 7, Apple Watch deals on the Series 6 are hard to come by if you’re looking for a brand new smartwatch.

Apple Watch SE

A budget option from Apple

Operating system: watchOS 7 | Compatibility: iOS | Display: 40mm-44mm | Processor: S5 dual core | Storage on board: 32GB | Battery: 6 pm | Charging method: Wireless | IP value: IPX7 | Connectivity: WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS

New watchOS7

Affordable

Fairly powerful

No new sensors

The Apple Watch SE was released in 2020 alongside the Series 6 as a more affordable alternative, with a starting price of $279 / £269.

Key features include the latest watchOS 7, which gives this device access to many of the new upgrades the more expensive Series 6 rocks, but at a more affordable price. Internally you also get the same altimeter, gyroscope and accelerometer as the Series 6 – enough for all the major fitness apps, but you miss the brand new blood oxygen monitor.

All in all this watch is definitely more stripped down than the fancier Series 6, but given that you’re getting about the same amount of power on tap as the Series 5 at a lower price and the new watchOS 7 – it’s excellent value and a of our favorite Apple Watch deals.

Apple Watch 3

A great watch at a lower price

Operating system: watchOS 6 | Compatibility: iOS | Display: 1.65″ OLED | Processor: S3 dual core | Storage on board: 8GB | Battery: 6 pm | Charging method: Wireless | IP value: IPX7 | Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS mobile

Altimeter

Mobile options

Stream music with mobile

Value for your money

LTE is not a good value

Battery life should be longer

Although the Apple Watch 3 was released in 2017, it still remains a top-notch device in terms of fitness and longevity, with running and cycling tracking on board and a water-resistant casing for swimming, plus the heart rate monitor on the underside. And the LTE version comes with cellular connectivity so you can use it independently from your phone.

You lose some of the design benefits of the newer models by choosing this cheaper Apple Watch price. The smaller screen and chassis won’t stop you, but there’s a much nicer option on the market with the latest chassis designs. The watch itself is slightly thicker and runs on an older processor, so you don’t browse apps that quickly.

Nevertheless, the Apple Watch 3 still stands as a strong smartwatch solution, especially if you’re looking for something cheaper to use just for fitness or music. It’s much cheaper than the later models while still offering the latest software, and thanks to Apple’s ongoing support, it can generally be found at most retailers. Essentially, Apple Watch deals will revolve around this essential feature set that offers great value for money.

Apple Watch Deals: Is the Price Worth It?

Apple’s hardware often comes with a hefty price tag, and the Apple Watch doesn’t fall far from the tree. That said, if you’re looking for a smartwatch that works with your iPhone, no other brand comes close to offering the functionality of Apple’s own timepiece.

While the Apple Watch price is still higher than many other brands, you’re paying for integration with a huge number of apps you already use on your iPhone. And with all the Apple Watch deals happening and the recent software updates for older models, it’s easy to grab a bargain.

Apple Watch deals from phone providers

If you’re looking for an Apple Watch deal with a cellular plan, a phone carrier like Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile could be your best option. If you buy an Apple Watch from a carrier, you can make monthly payments and you can usually get discounts, especially if you have an existing phone plan with them.

Deals on Apple Watch bands/straps

Bands are not one-size-fits-all budgets

Wide variety of sizes, colors and prices

Incredibly easy to slide onto your watch

Cannot use normal watch straps

Official Apple Watch bands are pricey

Your Apple Watch is literally incomplete without the best deals on Apple Watch bands. They make the geeky smartwatch stylish enough to show off to late adopters.

You’ll even want several cheap Apple Watch bands simply because more elegant bands are far from ideal for the gym. Conversely, sports bands are not appropriate at the fancy dining table.

Every day we see new cheap Apple Watch bands in the news trying to become the de facto alternative to the more expensive, official Apple Watch bands, and they are usually just as good. Trust us, it’s a breath of fresh air to buy a trio of third-party lookalike Apple Watch bands for the price of one official band after paying so much for the smartwatch itself.
