ChatGPT’s latest GPT-4 upgrade makes it smarter and chattier
AI is getting smarter: Another major upgrade has been released for ChatGPT, developer OpenAI has announced, and specifically for the GPT-4 Turbo model available to those who pay for ChatGPT Plus, Team or Enterprise.
says Open AI ChatGPT will now be better at writing, math, logical reasoning and coding – and it has the graphs to prove it. The release is tagged with the date April 9 and replaces the GPT-4 Turbo model that was released on January 25.
Based on the charts provided, the biggest jumps in capabilities are in math and GPQA, or Graduate-level Google-Proof Q&A – a benchmark based on multiple-choice questions in various scientific areas.
According to Open AI, the new and improved ChatGPT is “more direct” and “less verbose,” and will use “more conversational language.” All in all, a bit more human then. Ultimately, the improvements should trickle down to non-paying users as well.

In an example from OpenAI, the AI-generated text for a text message intended to respond to a dinner invitation is half as long and much more to the point – with some of the less essential words and phrases omitted for simplicity omitted.
Another major upgrade is that the training data on which ChatGPT is based now extends all the way to December 2023, instead of April 2023 as with the previous model, which should help with up-to-date questions and answers.
It’s difficult to test AI chatbots from version to version, but in our own experiments with ChatGPT and GPT-4 Turbo we found that the robot is now aware of more recent events, such as the launch of the iPhone 15. Because ChatGPT However, having never held or used an iPhone, it can’t provide nearly the information you’d get from our iPhone 15 review.
The momentum behind AI shows no signs of slowing down: in the past week alone, Meta has promised human-like cognition of upcoming models, while Google has made its impressive AI photo editing tools available to more users.
