Kognitium, owned by a Californian company of the same name, hasn’t released exact traffic figures but is telling users “you may not need to use ChatGPT anymore.”

Of course, Kognitium – one of many chatbot alternatives – tries to take advantage of ChatGPT’s problems with a well-timed post.

The “carefully crafted” answers are always up to date and have “high accuracy,” the company claims, which could set it apart from the likes of ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini, which tend to deliver incorrect information.

People shared on X (Twitter) their frustration at having to ‘think for themselves’ and use their brains in the absence of the AI tool.

According to DownDetector, hundreds of people have been affected worldwide since around 8am BST.
Down Detector receives network status updates from various sources, including social media and reports submitted to the website.
The site reveals that 79 percent of those affected said they had problems with ChatGPT in general.

Meanwhile, others were more specific: 15 percent said they had problems with the app and 6 percent were unable to use the website.
OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, acknowledged the outage with a statement: “We are currently investigating this issue.”
On the official OpenAI page ChatGPT status pagethe company said: “ChatGPT is unavailable for some users.”
It continued: ‘We are currently investigating this issue.’
